At the picture show

One thing that Tyler and I like to do is go to movies together.  We are very outdoorsy people, but movies are probably our favorite indoor activity (or atleast the most common).  Unfortunately, ever since Sawyer arrived, this has become quite difficult.  Of course, being the adventurous people we are, we decided to go for it.  We couldn't just go to a regular old movie, we had to go all out!  So... Sawyer's first experience at the movies was the double feature of Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2 in 3D.

Toy Story 1 and 2 are some of my VERY favorite Disney/Pixar movies so I was excited to go see them in 3D.  We almost made it through both movies, but Tyler and I were both exausted and Sawyer had had enough. I used to watch these movies with the little boy I nannied for and it was one of his favorites.  I watched them so many times as a Nanny that I seriously think I have the movies memorized! Even though they are some of my favorites, leaving early didn't bother me at all. It was fun to get back out to the movies again. Now I'm excited to see the 3rd one! Maybe by the time it comes out, Sawyer will actually be a little interested.

All Smiles!

Sawyer has been all smiles lately!  It is so fun to go pick him up out of his crib in the morning and have him give me a huge smile.  He also recently learned he has a tongue and LOVES to play with it.  He is so dang cute!

He also is learning how to use his arms a little better.  He is constantly trying to bring them together or to his face to put in his mouth.

I can never resist taking pictures of him sleeping.  He is so precious!  He even sleeps like his daddy with his hands behind his head.

I think he is getting mad at me for taking so many pictures, he looks like he is ready to punch someone! :)

He is getting so big!  This picture of him is on his 2 month birthday, quite a difference from when we brought him home from the hospital!

Two months of catching up

So along with being new parents and having BOTH are computers break down, we are a little late on the updates.  It's been a month and a half since we have posted anything, so needless to say, we have a lot to cover.
Sawyer is now 2 months old!  I can't believe it!  He is growing so fast and getting so big.  I was a bit of a slacker of a mother and forgot to call to make his 2 month appointment, so it isn't until next week.  We are excited to see what his new weight and height will be, but I am sure he won't mind having to wait a little longer to get those dreaded shots.
So let me back up a little...
Sawyer still loves his bath times.  I have a funny story about baths!  After his second or third bath I was drying Sawyer off while he laid on the couch wrapped up in his towel.  All of the sudden I felt something wet dripping on my foot!  I looked down and this is what I found...

He managed to pee right on my leg.  Funny thing is, he shot me right in the leg without dripping any on the floor or the couch or anywhere else.  This kid has good aim!

Last year Tyler and I had so much fun at the fair, we had to go again this year.  Sawyer was only a few weeks old, but we decided that having a baby shouldn't stop us from getting out and having fun!  So we headed down to Pueblo with my two brothers, sister-in-law, two nephews and my brothers girlfriend.  It was definately a different experience having a newborn, however, we found that Sawyer is not a fan of the Ferris Wheel, but he sure loves rollercoasters! Unfortunately my camera batteries died shortly after we got there, but we did get a few pictures on the way down.

This is Sawyer's cousin Zach, checking him out and meeting him for the first time.  His other cousin Logan is in the front seat checking him out too.

On the bus, he was startled in his sleep, and this was the result.  He stayed like this for a minute or so.  It was pretty funny. (Maybe he was conducting an orchestra in his sleep)

Then when Sawyer was almost six weeks old, we decided to take him for his first MLB game. We went to see the Rockies play in Denver. He did great and enjoyed every second of it!

When he got home, he was exaughsted!  I had to get a better picture of his cute little baseball pj's too

We have had so much fun watching him grow. He is so fun to have around.  Being parents has been so worth all the sleepless nights.  We love him so much!

Sawyer's first photo shoot

At three weeks old we took Sawyer to get his first professional pictures done.  Here are a few of our favorites.

Such a happy family!

Day at the Zoo!

This past weekend Tyler's friend Tom came down to visit. Tom and his wife Siri live up in Boulder, CO but Tyler knows Tom from Maine. It is crazy that they both ended up living in Colorado and so close to each other too! So, we took them to the Colorado Springs zoo. This zoo is pretty incredible. It is located on the mountain, so walking around is like hiking- lots and lots of steep hills. It is actually on the same mountain where NORAD is located. Also, they let you feed the giraffes! This is definately Tyler's favorite perk. We have been to many zoo's together but it still is one of my favorites (Of course I am a bit partial- it IS my home town). Anyway, we feel like it was very beneficial for Sawyer, he loved every sleeping moment of it! We figured we better start his love of animals at a young age! (Is 2 weeks old pushing it?)

Tyler made quick friends with the birds. Did I mention you can feed the birds too?! Tom and Siri found some feathered friends too!

Tom a little nervous, that giraffes tongue is slimy!

Tyler is in heaven!

Nothing like hanging out with giraffes while holding your son in a kangaroo pouch

Sawyer's first bath!

Sawyer had a big week! His umbilical cord fell off making it possible for his first bath. He did great actually! A lot of people told me babies always hate their first bath, but he did pretty well. He really enjoyed being snuggled up in the towel afterwards.
Sawyer prefers the one glove look
(I had to add this one in just because he is so darn cute. He has a half smile, I'm sure from gas, but nonetheless, he's a cutie!)

There is no such thing as modesty when you are two weeks old. Especially when it involves your first bath!

I think he was over due on his bath. His belly button looks like it could support a small sapling.

Sawyer is not impressed with my technique.

If you stuck him in the front basket of my bike he'd look like E.T.

Who can resist taking a video of the squirmy wet seal pup.

I am sure he will not appreciate these pictures being posted for everyone to see when he is 18 years old but new parents just can't resist!

Hiccups...

Sawyer is CONSTANTLY getting the hiccups. It happens almost every time he eats. I expected it to be this way because he always got them inside the womb as well. It is so cute to watch him though so I got him on tape. Good thing they don't hurt babies the way they do adults!
