Hiccups...

Sawyer is CONSTANTLY getting the hiccups. It happens almost every time he eats. I expected it to be this way because he always got them inside the womb as well. It is so cute to watch him though so I got him on tape. Good thing they don't hurt babies the way they do adults!

Sawyer Chamberlain York

Our beautiful baby boy has arrived! Born on Friday, July 24th at 7:49 AM he weighed in at 7 lbs. 13 oz. and was 20 inches long. We are so happy to welcome him into our family and love every moment we get to spend with him. Mom and baby are doing great.

Cheryl and Sawyer getting ready to go home from the hospital. His great grandmother knit him this sweater which is the same sweater she knit for his "old man" 27 years ago.

I think its going to take more than a couple days for him to out grow his sweater.

Cheryl says the only resemblance she sees is our receding hair line!

Sleeping like a baby in the car seat Grandma York bought for him.

Sawyer's tribute to Michael Jackson, sporting the white gloves.

Sawyer is a big fan of the finger.

This is not an optical illusion. His head truly comprises 50 percent of his body mass!

All of his clothes are WAY big on him right now!

Daddy is SO tired! He loves his little boy!

Both of us really love being parents. It is extremely tiring but so worth it! Even with no sleep we wouldn't trade it for the world!

The nursery is done, just waiting for the little one

The nursery is finally done! Although I was a little nervous about Tyler's decorating capabilities, he did a great job. We went out together and picked everything out, but he did all the decorating by himself! For those of you who know Tyler, you know how much he LOVES animals. Let's hope Sawyer has that same passion... I'm not worried. We love our little jungle theme room and now just need a baby to put in it!
Here is our cute crib bedding, provided by my wonderful mother! We bought a little gate that is in the door way to the room. This has done wonders in keeping the dogs out of the room. The cute little animals above the doorway (Tyler did this on his own!) Isn't the monkey rug just adorable!

Sawyer will be riding in style in his little car seat. (Thanks to Tyler's mom!)
We love the crib that Tyler's family got us!

And here I am.... relaxing and practicing my rocking.

The cross stitch on the wall has a great story behind it. Tyler's Nana stitched this when he was young. Everytime he went to her house he wanted to see it and see what animal she had recently added. She gave this to us as a gift and even though she had a hard time parting with it, I think it will be very special to Sawyer. I think I will be spending a lot of time in this spot changing lots and lots of diapers!

Here is the bookshelf we got for the room. If you look closely you can see little animal decals in the background of the bookshelf. Tyler also came up with this idea and I think it looks great!

And here is an update on the belly shot. I am now 36 weeks pregnant! It is hard to believe how much I have grown. Only 4 weeks left 'til the due date. If you haven't been able to tell from all the recent posts, we can hardly wait! Now that this room is all set up, we are eagerly awaiting his arrival!

What a month!

The month of June turned out to be very eventful for Tyler and I. Having both of our birthdays, getting sealed, having a baby shower, and having Tyler's friend come for a visit made the month very exciting for us! For Tyler's birthday I decided to be creative and get him a dozen doughnuts from Dunkin' Donuts. We have one very close to our house, and everytime we drive by, Tyler turns the radio down for a moment of silence. I guess it is his way of remembering his upbringing in the East. He misses back home a lot! Below is a picture of him blowing out his match I put on his doughnuts.

My sister also threw me a great baby shower! It was so fun to see all my friends and family that have known me since I was young. It was like having a little reunion. I really loved being able to share this exciting time with all of them. Lori, being the creative gal she is, decided to have everyone decorate a quilt square that she could make a baby quilt out of. I thought it was a great idea, and something he and I will cherish for a long time. I can't wait to see the finished result.

Everyone brought fun gifts that got me really excited for him to get here! Of course I just feel more impatient, but it was so fun to imagine putting him in all the cute outfits. I have the best family and friends ever!

So, we are both a year older, sealed for time and eternity and Tyler got to spend some good "man time" with his good friend before the baby arrives. With all the wonderful gifts we got and all the wonderful things that have happened this month we are more excited than ever for the little guy to arrive!
