Helen Hunt Falls

Tyler and I are really enjoying my new schedule!  It is so fun to spend time together and such a nice break from the hectic life we have lived for the past two years.  Last week we decided to go to nearby Helen Hunt Falls....

Waterfalls are my favorite!  What a fun day!

We've got a climber on our hands!

When I was two years old, I took a chair from my kitchen table, slid it over to the counter, climbed on top of the chair, then onto the counter, and on top of the fridge to get a cookie out of the cookie jar. Now this story is often told by my family to demonstrate my early desire to be independant as well as my LOVE of sweets as a child. It also shows I was NOT afraid to climb!  Looks like Sawyer takes after his mommy....

He will climb on anything and everything he can! What a silly boy!

Last Family Camping Trip of the Year

I was dying to get out of the house and do something since I had a WHOLE week off between finishing school and starting my new job. Then it occured to me that I didn't do anything fun this summer!  I definately needed to get out and enjoy nature!  Tyler and I both agreed it was time for a camping trip. The aspens were beautiful and it was a great way to get away from it all....

Hanging out in the tent
After the rain stopped, we bundled up
Yay!  Sunshine!
Getting ready for some dinner
Sleeping in his very own sleeping bag! (What a lucky kid!)
He fell down a couple hundred times- walking down hills on uneven ground is not easy!
Our little outdoorsman
Playing in the dirt with mom

And... a cute video of Sawyer taunting the dog with a stick....

2010 State Fair

It has become our tradition to go to the fair every year now.  This year it was fun to watch Sawyer interact with the animals.

Daddy and Sawyer on the shuttle bus, excited to go to the fair!
This guy wrestled gators!  So Cool! (I also lusted after his big muscles a little, which made Tyler jealous...)
Sawyer trying to pet a horse. They were hungry and I was scared to death they were gonna bite his hand off
Little man milking his first cow
Saying hi to the baby calf
Checking out another cow
First time in a petting zoo
He tried to pet EVERYTHING, but was a little cautious

Ok, so this video is one from a few months ago, but I find it halarious and HAD to share! At first it seems a little cruel, but it's just pretty funny. Enjoy!

I've got Letters!

Drum roll please!.....
It's official!  I am now....

CHERYL YORK RT(R)

Sunday I came home from Stake Conference and made my family a meal.  I even made part of the meal for our monday night dinner.  Then Sawyer and I spent the day together.  Boy did that feel nice!

Two years ago I got accepted into a very competitive program for Radiology Tech school.  I remember my excitement feeling so "lucky" to be 1 of 18 choosen from a group of over 100 applicants.  Little did I know what I was getting myself into!  Here I am now, finally finished!  This has been one of the hardest things I've done in my life.  It has taken me away from my family, friends, and any kind of normal life that I thought I might have once had.  I look forward to what the future holds and am proud of myself for making it this far.
After all the lessons I learned from the millions of tests I've taken and crazy things I have seen at the hospital, the thing I have learned the most is to keep things priority in my life.  I have to admit, I haven't always done great at this throughout school.  I have been very fortunate to land my "dream job" right out of school.  My new job allows me to be home during the day and with Sawyer.  I can't tell you how excited I am to finally get to be a mom.  I have been incredibly jealous of all you stay at home moms and the time you get to spend with your little ones.
I am so grateful for my wonderful, supportive husband who helped me get through these two crazy years.  He has been incredibly neglected as well, and hopefully him and I can finally go on a date (without Sawyer even) and spend some quality time together.  I know it always seems greener on the other side, and I'm sure my new schedule will have it's own challenges, but today is a good day.

Sawyer's 1st Birthday

For Sawyer's Birthday we decided to invite all the local relatives over for a party.  We ended up having around 20 people there!  How lucky are we to have so many relatives close by to share our lives with?!  Anyway, I kept putting off this post because there are a MILLION pictures, but I decided to just post some of our favorites.  Enjoy!

Just woke up from his nap, wondering why all these people are here?
Yay!  Grandpa came!

Our long table of family. Mmmmm, bring on the food!

We sure love our little man.  What a fun year we have had learning all about him and welcoming him into our lives.  We wouldn't trade it for the world!  Happy Birthday Sawyer!  We love you!
